Rabbi Robbie Schaefer

RobbieSchaefer is a rabbi, singer-songwriter and theatre/film artist who is head over heels in love with the Jewish people. Before becoming a rabbi he did some things: www.robbieschaefer.com.

Robbie is thrilled to serve as the rabbi at Har Shalom in the city that he has long considered to be his home away from home (and where he still has family). When not in Missoula, he lives in Alexandria, VA with his wife, Tandy, and their beagle, Lola. He is the father to three boys men, Noah, Ethan, and Owen—each of whom is officially his favorite.

In addition to serving at Har Shalom, Rabbi Robbie is the founder of Lamplighters, an online and in-person chavurah that cultivates small-batch, relationship-driven, inclusive Judaism. He received smicha from Pluralistic Rabbinical Seminary in 2024. Mostly though, he loves exploring and creating livable, accessible Torah with others and building vibrant, robust Jewish community. And olives. He really loves olives.
